New Directors in Dubai and Abu Dhabi

By the end of June we will leave our jobs for the Swedish Business Council in the UAE.

A new director is employed in Dubai, her name is Linda Nordin. She will start working full time 1st September. You will find her contact information on this website then.

We are looking for the successor to Gunilla in Abu Dhabi and hopefully we will have found her/him in August at the latest.

During the Summer, we will check our email once a week until August 1st when our mail will be forwarded to our Presidents, Peter Bengtsson in Dubai and Torbjörn Bodin in Abu Dhabi. Gunilla is moving on to Indonesia this autumn, and Eréne is enjoying her time in Dubai before returning to Sweden in February next year.

Sweden's National Day reception, the 6th of June in Abu Dhabi

The Swedish Embassy, the Swedish Trade Council and the Swedish Business Council arranged the Swedish national day reception for the business community in UAE. The reception had over 500 guests that took place at Radisson Blu on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. The event was honoured by H.E. Mohammed Bin Dhain Al Hamili, Minister of Energy, as well as many Emirati, Swedish and other guests from the business community and organizations in the UAE.

The guests were treated with Swedish specialities that was prepared by the Swedish chef Sten von Kuhn and his Norwegian collegue Harvard Mattiesen. The Swedish band 'Wild Strawberries' from Falkenberg entertained the guests, and the Swedish Singer Therese Neaimei performed to an enthusiastic crowd.

We now have two offices in UAE, one in Dubai and one in Abu Dhabi. We have a President for each city, but they and the rest of The Executive Committee, are responsible for the UAE.
