Swedish Midsummer Celebration 2023

We are thrilled to look back on the magical Midsummer Celebration that took place on Friday the 16th June at The Strand, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. It was an evening devoted to singing, eating, and dancing.

The event started with the musicians Mohamad Hamami on violin and Alexander Cherevchenko on the accordion. Two authentic Swedish Midsummer instruments filled the room with Swedish folk music while guests were enjoying elderflower drinks.

A three-course homemade midsummer menu, including pickled herring, salmon, meatballs, and the summery dessert - strawberry cake were served to the guests at The Strand.

The atmosphere during the evening was warm and filled with joy and the beautifully arranged flowers on the tables, and flowers in some of the guests' hair enhanced the mood. A warm, inviting ambiance with the favorite Swedish music and midsummer games such as Spoon on Egg race and Pen in the Bottle were fun activities sponsored by Citi and Centaurs.

To fit 100 guests in the venue was a bit nerve-racking when it came to dancing around the midsummer pole, but if there is room for the heart there is room for the tail and many of the guests swallowed their pride and danced around the midsummer pole as little frogs - just like it should be at Midsummer!

Thanks to Lisette UhlmannHenrick Solera who made the dancefloor alive with fantastic songs until the midnight sun.

We extend our warm gratitude to every sponsor who generously contributed to the success of the event. Your support and belief in our event and network made it possible for us to create an extraordinary celebration for the community.

We wish you all a warm and sunny summer!
