Swedish Business Council (hereby referred to as the ‘SBC’) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy sets out the types of personal information we collect, how we collect and process that information, and certain rights and options that you have in this respect.

We collect and process the following personal data from you:

Identity and Contact Data, including your name, address, telephone number, e-mail, employer, job title and function, and other personal data concerning your preferences relevant to our services;

Financial and Payment Data, including necessary billing address and relevant account numbers.

Business Information, including information provided in the course of the contractual or client relationship between you or your organisation and SBC, or otherwise voluntarily provided by you or your organisation;

Profile and Usage Data, including your preferences in receiving marketing information from us, your communication preferences and information about how you use our website, which is generated automatically by the SBC website service provider (including page interaction, clicks etc). 

Tracking and Cookies, We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our service. Cookies are files with a small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device.


If you provide information to us about any person other than yourself, for instance your employees, you must ensure that they understand how their information will be used, and that they have given their permission for you to disclose it to us and for you to allow us, and our outsourced service providers, to use it.

How do we collect your personal data?

The circumstances in which we can collect personal data about you include:

·         when you or your organization seek to or become a member of the SBC.

·         when you or your organisation offer to provide, or provides, services to us;

·         when it is provided to us by a third party because you are the employee of one of our member organisations, supplier or service provider.

·         when you correspond with us by phone, email or other electronic means or otherwise interact on our website or other online platforms.

·         when you attend our seminars or other events.



We use your personal data only for the following purposes:

  • to fulfil your registration and membership with SBC.

  • to process payments, billing and collection;

  • to analyse and improve our services and communications;

  • to communicate with you about matters related to your membership or interests in SBC. To keep you updated about our services and events; to send you client surveys, marketing campaigns, or other promotional activities; and

Where you give us consent:

  • to communicate with you to keep you updated on our services and events. (including newsletters, e-mails and surveys). We will only provide you with marketing related information after you have, where legally required to do so, opted in to receive those communications and having provided the opportunity for you to opt out at any time.


We never share your personal data with anyone.

Updating personal data about you 

If any of the personal data that you have provided to us changes, for example if you change your email address or if you wish to cancel any request you have made of us, or if you become aware we have any inaccurate personal data about you, please let us know by contacting us here.


Our website or other communication channels may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click a third party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.
