Swedish Midsummer Celebration 2025

We are delighted to look back on the magical Midsummer celebration that took place on Friday, 13th June at The Strand, Palm Jumeirah. The evening was dedicated to tradition, music, great food, and joyful company.

The celebration began with beautiful Swedish folk music performed by Mohamad Hamami on violin and Alexander Cherevchenko on accordion, setting the tone as guests enjoyed refreshing welcome drinks.

A traditional three-course Midsummer menu was served, featuring pickled herring, salmon, meatballs, and a classic strawberry cake for dessert.

The atmosphere came alive when our hosts Johanna, Lisa, and Jasmin kicked off the evening with Sweden’s Eurovision hit Bara Bada Bastu. Tables were decorated with vibrant summer flowers, and many guests wore traditional flower wreaths.

With 100 guests, the dance floor quickly filled up as we circled around the Midsummer pole, laughing and hopping like little frogs — just as it should be! A special thank you to  Lisette Uhlmann and DJ Vii Toria, who kept the dance floor alive with fantastic music until the “midnight sun.”

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our sponsors (see below). Your generous support made this celebration possible and truly unforgettable for our community.

Wishing you all a joyful and sunny summer!

Warm regards,
The SBC Team
