Join the Swedish Business Council (SBC) team as our new Assistant Executive Director, focusing on event and account management while fostering community growth!

ROLE:

As part of our small but dynamic team, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting various operational aspects, including account management, event planning, and administration. Additionally, you'll take the lead in new member prospecting and networking to expand SBC's reach within the business community.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT AND MEMBER RELATIONS:

  • Manage and grow relationships with assigned members.

  • Act as main point of contact and identify opportunities for collaboration.

  • Drive retention, renewals, and revenue (upselling, sponsorships).

  • Promote SBC through networking, communication, and introductions.

  • Drive membership growth by actively prospecting and engaging with potential new members, fostering relationships within the community and beyond.

  • Understand industry trends to tailor membership offerings effectively.

EVENT PLANNING AND EXECUTION:

  • Collaborate with the team to plan and execute events, from venue selection to speaker coordination, ensuring seamless execution and positive attendee experiences.

  • Utilise creativity and innovation to develop new event concepts and strategies to attract and engage members and stakeholders.

SKILLS:

  • Fluent in English and Swedish, both spoken and written.

  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in various communication software including Microsoft 365.

  • Self-motivated, outgoing, and flexible, with excellent time-management skills.

  • Comfortable with public speaking and networking in diverse business environments.

ADDITIONAL:

  • Working hours are Monday - Friday and to have the availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

  • Availability to work from home as no office space is provided.

  • Driver's licence required. Note that the majority of the work will take place in Dubai.

  • Must possess your own UAE visa and UAE insurance.

This position offers a 6-month probation period, with possible extension or confirmation based on performance. The role is based on a 50% working week with the intention of going up to 100%.
