Bahman Kazemian, Founder & CEO of InnovaSense
Who is Bahman Kazemian?
My name is Bahman Kazemian, and I'm the Founder & CEO of InnovaSense. We are an AI Company based in Dubai, and we are focused on developing practical and human-centric solutions in the field of Agentic AI.
I grew up in the 80s-90s Sweden, in a small town just outside of Gothenburg. It was an era before smartphones and constant connectivity, where creativity was born out of pure boredom. We played in the forest, read magazines, rented Atari games and VHS films.
I used to tinker with gadgets, taking things apart to see how they worked. It was a time of Walkmans, CocaCola and those magical machines called, Computers! Watching me borrow computer books from the library, and stare dreamily at every computer, my father finally decided to buy me a PC, and just to make it extra memorable, he did it on a Valentine’s Day. I used to spend hours trying to figure out how that machine worked. I used to carefully remove the warranty seal, to check out the components inside. God knows, how many times I accidentally deleted important files and had to format the disk, reinstall the entire Operating System.
At the age of eleven, I wrote my first lines of code, at fourteen, during a summer job at Mercedes-Benz in Gothenburg I built them a website, and they loved it. I loved that feeling, where grown-up professionals found my creation fascinating. I loved dressing up and sitting in those, Conference Rooms! Eventually, I was that teenage boy who people called to get help with anything computer related. At sixteen, I sold an audio-conversion algorithm to a broadcasting company and that was my initial steps into entrepreneurship. Although, I didn't know the word entrepreneur, and until today I have trouble spelling it without auto-correct!
Naturally, I went on to study Computer Science and began my career as a software engineer. Years passed, technologies evolved, jobs changed, and my titles became ridiculously longer and longer. At one job, my title was Senior Enterprise Architect & Digital Transformation Strategist. Over the past 27 years, I have been lucky to have worked alongside so many talented people.
In a nutshell, I am the sum of the stories I've absorbed, the books that shaped my thinking, the ideas
I’ve practiced, the films that stirred something in me, the music that stayed in my heart, and the people who inspired me and taught me what life, love, and kindness truly mean.
As the Founder & CEO of InnovaSense, what are currently your main responsibilities and priorities? What are some of the key strategies you are focusing on to drive the company’s growth and innovation?
My role sits at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and execution. On one side, I guide the overall direction of the company, ensuring that our vision for Agentic AI stays focused on solving real problems for real people. On the other, I remain deeply engaged in the technology itself. I still write, design, test, and challenge ideas alongside our engineering team because understanding the details helps me make better decisions at the strategic level.
A large part of my responsibility is building and maintaining the ecosystem around InnovaSense. This includes shaping partnerships with universities, government entities, and industry leaders, engaging with clients to understand their pain points, and ensuring our solutions are practical, ethical, and future-ready.
Right now, my priorities revolve around three key areas. First, strengthening our Agentic AI offerings and expanding our family of AI employees to address more business functions. Second, deepening our partnerships within the UAE's rapidly evolving AI ecosystem. And third, ensuring that as we grow, we stay true to our core principle: building technology that enhances human capability and gives people back the most valuable resource they have: time.
As a founder of a growing startup, what have been some of the biggest challenges and proudest moments in building InnovaSense from the ground up?
Building a company from the ground up is not a 9-to-5 venture. Building InnovaSense has been both the most challenging and the most rewarding experience of my career. One of the biggest challenges has been balancing ambition with reality. When you build something new, especially in a field like Artificial Intelligence, the vision is always far ahead of the resources. You work long days, you make sacrifices, and you learn to operate in uncertainty, while still convincing yourself and everyone else to move forward with confidence. Another challenge has been managing the emotional side of entrepreneurship: the time away from the family, the responsibility of leading a team, navigating setbacks, and making tough decisions that can shape the future of the company. These challenges are exactly what make the proud moments so meaningful. In April 2025, InnovaSense was among the very first recipients of the prestigious Dubai AI Seal, we took a photo with Dubai's Crown Price, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan, we stood next to tech giants like IBM and E&. It was a major milestone for us. In September 2025, InnovaSense was again selected out of more than 1,300 companies worldwide to be part of the Accelerator Program by Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence to work with Government Entities on solving real uses-cases. That was another defining achievement that reminded us that our direction is not only right, but relevant. But the moments that make me proudest are more personal. Watching our team grow in confidence and skills. I feel so lucky to work alongside these creative geniuses and to learn from them. Hearing from business leaders that our solutions have given them something priceless, like time, focus and helped reduces their stress. These are the moments that stay with me.
What lessons have you learned along the way about entrepreneurship and innovation?
I’ve learned that progress is rarely linear. There are moments of excitement and moments of doubt. But if you stay grounded in purpose, move fast without rushing, and keep learning, you eventually realize that every setback was part of the path forward. I've also learned that surrounding myself with curious, honest, and resilient individuals makes all the difference. A strong team will elevate a good idea, while a weak team can crush even the best one. Another important lesson is that clarity matters more than complexity. It’s easy to fall in love with ideas, features, or technologies, but real innovation happens when you strip things down to the core problem and solve it in the simplest, most human way.
InnovaSense operates at the intersection of technology and innovation. What is your leadership philosophy, and how do you foster a culture of creativity and progress within your team?
My leadership philosophy is grounded in trust, clarity, and curiosity. I believe people do their best work when they understand the purpose behind what they are building, feel trusted to explore ideas, and know they have the freedom to experiment without fear of failure. My job is not to control creativity, but to create the conditions where it can thrive. That means removing unnecessary complexity, giving the team the right tools and direction, and creating space for diverse perspectives to meet and challenge each other. Innovation emerges when engineers, designers, storytellers, and business minds feel comfortable pushing boundaries and questioning assumptions. And the next time someone says, “think outside the box,” I always ask: who built the box in the first place, and does the box even exist, or is it just imaginary?
Working in a highly innovative and fast-evolving field, what inspires you personally and professionally? What are your aspirations for the future — both for InnovaSense and for yourself?
What inspires me, personally and professionally, is the belief that technology is the bridge between where we are and where we aspire to be. When it’s used with purpose, it has the power to simplify life, unlock potential, and give people back the time and energy they often lose to routine and complexity.
As for me, my goal is simple: to keep learning, to stay useful, and to remain true to the values that brought me here. I want to keep building things that matter, surround myself with people who challenge me, and help me grow as a leader and as a human being.
